The Myth Was Hiding Inside the Vomit All Along: How Mike Sain't Louis Writes About Masks, Mirrors and the People Who Wear Them
In Spanish, the word for “myth” sits tucked inside the word for “vomit”. Madrid's self-styled “first AI singer-songwriter” built a song on that accident of language, and it says a lot about how he writes identity, disguise and the end of illusions

Madrid, 25 October 2026
Here is a small fact about the Spanish language that most native speakers have never noticed: the word mito, “myth”, is hidden inside the word vómito, “vomit”. Strip off the first two letters and one becomes the other. Mike Sain't Louis, an indie alternative artist from Madrid who calls himself “the first AI singer-songwriter”, noticed. He turned it into the title of a song about the moment an idealised lover collapses into something you can't stomach: «De mito a vómito», from myth to vomit.
It is a joke, of course. It is also a neat summary of one of the threads running through his work: masks, mirrors, and what happens when the face you fell for turns out to be a costume.
Who is behind the words
Mike Sain't Louis writes every lyric he releases. He is also the composer, music producer, art director and CEO of his own independent label, MIKE SAIN'T LOUIS, with no record company behind him and no intermediaries. The music and the vocal performance are generated with artificial intelligence, which he uses as a production and arrangement tool. He does not sing; the voice is AI-generated. The words, the ideas and the artistic direction are his.
In roughly two years he has released 273 singles and more than 280 music videos as part of a project called PLANETA GAYFOLK, anchored by a trilogy of albums conceived as a single journey towards a planet where everyone can live exactly as they are. His style runs from electropop to Spanish copla, from alt-pop to ballads, in Spanish, English, French and Portuguese. Many listeners first found him in 2024, when «Tan Cateto» went viral on TikTok.
«De mito a vómito»: when the pedestal gives way
The song begins with that wordplay and refuses to let it go. The ex is described as someone who went from legend to nausea for thinking below the belt, and left all on his own. What follows is a breakup delivered with both hands: no phone calls, no emails, no WhatsApp, and please don't use the pets as an excuse, because they have already been divided up. Getting back together? The narrator has an answer for that, with a volcanic sense of scale:
Antes explota el Teide
The Teide volcano would erupt first.
Beneath the bravado, there is something sadder. The lyric talks about idealising someone, then discovering a double life; about a clifftop over a little cove that seemed so beautiful a year earlier; about realising that the stranger beside you never really listened. The mask does not slip all at once. It slides, date by date, until you look back at the calendar and understand.
“The problem isn't that people wear masks,” Mike says. “We all do, a bit. The problem is when you fall in love with the mask and the person underneath has been laughing at you the whole time.”
«El narcisista»: a heart on ice
If «De mito a vómito» is about the moment the mask falls, «El narcisista» is about the person who never takes it off. The chorus states it plainly: the narcissist hates whoever loves him, never loved you at all, and no amount of effort, not even a flamethrower, will thaw him out, because:
su corazón está congelado
His heart is frozen solid. The verses go further. The narcissist has already told colleagues that the narrator is a fake; he even brings up the fact that the narrator sees a psychologist. He never saw the narrator as an artist, only as a threat. And the narrator, desperate, wants the real truth to come out, not the version that has been invented.
There is a sly touch of self-awareness too: the lyric calls itself a musical and predicts it will become famous precisely for telling this story. It is the mirror turned around: the person who was cast as the villain in someone else's version writes his own script.
Mike has spoken publicly about the purpose behind songs like this. With professional support, he has been turning years of relationships with narcissistic partners into music, to make psychological abuse and its marks on mental health visible, and so that people who have lived through it feel seen and believed. “I'm not writing to diagnose anyone,” he says. “I'm writing so that whoever is still inside one of those stories hears a song and thinks: so it wasn't just me.”
Masks, mirrors and a planet without disguises
Put the two songs side by side and a pattern appears. In one, the narrator finally sees through the mask. In the other, he describes someone who will never remove it. Both are steps on the road of the GAYFOLK trilogy, whose final instalment is titled «El día de la liberación»: the day you no longer need anyone's costume, including your own.
That is also why humour matters so much in his catalogue. Camp, after all, is a mask worn knowingly. “The difference between a disguise and a costume,” Mike says, “is that with a costume you know you're wearing it. I'll take sequins over lies any day.”
Why it might land in the UK
British audiences have a long love affair with wordplay, with camp, and with songs that turn heartbreak into a punchline without letting the pain off the hook. Mike Sain't Louis's Spanish lyrics travel with that same blend of wit and bruise, and his full lyrics are published online for anyone who fancies following along with a translator open.
