Five crafts, one name

What he does

  • Producer

He builds every song from scratch in his studio and decides how it sounds down to the last detail. He uses artificial intelligence as one more production tool, the way earlier generations used the drum machine or the synthesizer.

  • Songwriter

Every lyric is his. He can write with no filter about love, heartbreak and queer life in Spain, and also write songs of faith and hope. He switches register without losing his voice.

  • Composer

Melodies and structures that run from electropop to copla, from alternative pop to Christian ballads, in Spanish and also in English, French and Portuguese.

  • Creative director

Covers, music videos, titles and concept. Each project has its own visual identity, defined and directed by him from start to finish.

  • CEO of MIKE SAIN'T LOUIS

His own independent record label. He releases, distributes and manages his entire catalogue with no middlemen, at a pace few labels could keep up with.

The story

Biography

Mike as a kid, long before his first single.

Mike Sain't Louis is a Madrid-based music creator who takes a song all the way on his own: he writes it, composes it, produces it, shapes its image and releases it on his own label.

As CEO of MIKE SAIN'T LOUIS he manages a catalogue that, across both projects, adds up to hundreds of songs and thousands of videos. No label behind him, no middlemen, and a steady release pace, week after week.

In the studio he works with artificial intelligence as a production and arranging tool, always in service of his lyrics and the idea behind each track. The direction, the concept and the words are always his. He writes about that experience on his blog.

With Planeta Gayfolk he makes bold, queer, uncensored pop full of humour: from Tan Cateto, which spread on TikTok, to the GAYFOLK trilogy. With Cristiiana he explores the other end of his writing: songs of faith and hope in Spanish, with cinematic music videos.

House rules

  1. 1

    We release here.

A song kept in a drawer helps nobody. Finishing and putting it out is part of the craft.

  2. 2

    The lyric is boss.

Technology changes every month; what he wants to say is the one thing that isn't up for negotiation.

  3. 3

    Each project, its own table.

Planeta Gayfolk and Cristiiana don't mix. Each has its own audience, sound and look.

  4. 4

    Humour tells the truth too.

Camp, excess and everyday life are serious ways to talk about life.

  5. 5

    No middlemen.

The label is his, and so are the decisions. If something goes wrong, it gets fixed and released again.
