Exit Routes: a Practical Listening Guide to the Getaway Songs of Mike Sain't Louis, Madrid's Alternative Indie First AI Singer-Songwriter
From the motorway to Benidorm to a supermarket aisle, the PLANETA GAYFOLK catalog is full of escapes. Six stops for headphones and long journeys, with «Cada cornada» and «El productor de Madonna no compra en Mercadona» as the main junctions

MADRID, 25 October 2026. Every catalog has a hidden map. In the case of Mike Sain't Louis, one of the clearest routes through his 273 singles is made of escapes: from a relationship, from a tradition, from other people's opinions, from a city that has gone grey. This guide is for anyone with a long journey ahead, a pair of headphones and a mild urge to leave something behind.
First, the driver. Mike Sain't Louis is an alternative indie artist based in Madrid who presents himself as "the first AI singer-songwriter". He writes all his lyrics; the music and the vocal performance are generated with artificial intelligence, which he uses as a production and arrangement tool. He is a lyricist, composer, producer, artistic director and CEO of his own independent label, MIKE SAIN'T LOUIS, with no record company and no intermediaries. Over roughly two years he has released 273 singles and more than 280 music videos under the name PLANETA GAYFOLK.
Before you set off
Download, don't stream, if you're heading somewhere with patchy signal. Every song can be downloaded free from mikesaintlouis.com, each with its lyrics, and the three albums of the GAYFOLK trilogy come as single downloads. Most lyrics are in Spanish, so keep the words open on your phone for the first listen. Some songs are explicit; that's part of the work, so plan accordingly if you're sharing the car with your nan.
Stop 1 — The motorway: «Madrid to Benidorm»
Start with an anthem that is literally a road. Written in English, «Madrid to Benidorm» is a pride song that dances under the rainbow from the capital to the coast, storms and all. It's the most straightforwardly joyful entry in the guide: the escape as a party, hand in hand, all the way to the sea.
Stop 2 — Leaving the bullring: «Cada cornada»
Now take a sharp turn. «Cada cornada» ("Every Goring") is an escape of a different kind: from a tradition. In his own note on the song, Mike writes that violence has no place even when it is dressed up with mantillas, lights and an old speech that no longer holds anything up, and that bullfighting is not an untouchable symbol but a custom that survives through inertia. The video, he says, doesn't try to please; it tries to show.
"If it makes you uncomfortable, it's working," he says. "If it stirs something, even better. Life is worth more than a full stand and automatic applause."
Practical tip: this is not a background track. Watch the video once with full attention, then listen again on the road and see what stays with you.
Stop 3 — The supermarket exit: «El productor de Madonna no compra en Mercadona»
The most unexpected escape route in the catalog runs through a Spanish supermarket. The song opens, one word per line, with the narrator's exhaustion at having to keep proving to everyone that he has talent even though he uses AI. Then the defence arrives: the lyric points out that Madonna's producer, Mirwais, has been using it for twenty years, and the queen still has her crown.
But the real getaway is from an ex. The ex adored Madonna, and the narrator has decided to change brands. If Madonna was like a deodorant that never lets you down, he's switched to the supermarket's own label, and it works just as well. The chorus does the rest:
El productor de Madonna no compra en Mercadona
There's also a cheeky boast about releasing ninety-three songs instead of thirteen, with ninety-three videos to match, if that's what it takes to be left in peace.
"That song is me leaving the room with my shopping bags," Mike says. "I don't need anyone's permission to make music, and I definitely don't need my ex's taste in pop."
Stop 4 — The dance floor exit: «No Contact»
For the stretch where you need energy, «No Contact» turns a hard rule into a club track. Mixing English and Spanish, it shuts the door on drama, credits a therapist with helping, and refuses to look back. If you've ever had to block someone and then go out anyway, this is your service station.
Stop 5 — Slow water: «Ride the Wave»
When the road goes quiet, switch to «Ride the Wave», which Mike describes as a chill-out journey through light and water, a way to breathe again. Good for the last hour before arriving, or for sitting by a lake that looks a lot like the one in the photo above.
Stop 6 — Arrival: «El día de la liberación»
End where the trilogy ends. In «El día de la liberación» the narrator declares himself free, happy in Benidorm, while the manipulator is left behind. The song shares its name with the trilogy's final album, which follows Descubierto un nuevo planeta llamado GAYFOLK and Ojalá se pudiera viajar a GAYFOLK, and it is the destination: a planet where everyone can live as they are.
Behind many of these exits there is something Mike has spoken about publicly: with professional help, he turns years of relationships with narcissistic partners into music, to make psychological abuse visible and help people living through it feel seen and believed.
Why British listeners might enjoy the ride
The UK has a soft spot for the escape song and the sharp-tongued break-up song alike. This route through PLANETA GAYFOLK has both, plus a camp sense of humour that travels well. Many listeners first met him in 2024, when «Tan Cateto» went viral on TikTok.
