Butterfly Wings in a Museum, Ballot Boxes in Space: How to Watch the 280-Plus Music Videos of Mike Sain't Louis

A practical viewing guide to the image-by-image AI video world of the Madrid indie alternative artist who calls himself the first AI singer-songwriter, with two songs that test how far his visuals and his lyrics are willing to go

MADRID, October 25, 2026 — Most independent artists dream of making one good music video. Mike Sain't Louis has made more than 280. The Madrid indie alternative artist, who presents himself as "the first AI singer-songwriter," has made them alongside a catalogue of 273 singles, building over roughly two years a visual universe called PLANETA GAYFOLK. This guide is for American viewers who want to explore it without getting lost.

First, know what you're looking at

Mike writes all of his lyrics, and the music and vocal performance are produced with artificial intelligence under his direction. The videos follow the same logic. In his own words, some are created entirely with AI, image by image, because he has no team, no production company and no budget — but he does have the will to keep going. He is his own art director, and the visual decisions are his, the same way the words are.

"People ask who my director is," he says. "I am. And my lighting crew, my set designer and my editor. The AI paints, but I decide what goes in the frame and what gets thrown out, and I throw out a lot."

Step one: start with a place that never invited you

A good entry point is "Louvre." Mike describes it as a visual fantasy that mixes art, identity and freedom. It wasn't shot in Paris, but it looks like it, because the museum here is a symbol rather than a location. His idea was to walk into somewhere solemn wearing butterfly wings and turn it into a dance floor — which, he writes, is what people who are different do: rewrite the places where they were never invited.

Watch it once for the spectacle. Watch it again for that idea, because it returns all over the catalogue.

Step two: follow the story arcs

Some videos tell stories that only make sense inside the GAYFOLK universe. In "Vota Malena Gracia," the planet of freedom faces an unexpected crisis: powerful billionaires want to buy it, so galactic elections are called and two figures beloved in Spanish pop culture run as symbols of colorful resistance. It is camp political satire, with beauty used, as Mike puts it, like a flower against steel.

If you enjoy that, look for the trilogy titles — "Descubierto un nuevo planeta llamado GAYFOLK," "Ojalá se pudiera viajar a GAYFOLK" and "El día de la liberación" — which frame the whole visual world as a journey to a planet where everyone can live as they are.

Step three: watch one that refuses to be pretty

Not every clip is a party. For "Cada cornada," a song critical of bullfighting, Mike wrote that the image doesn't accompany, it cuts; the aesthetic doesn't decorate, it wakes you up. Pick one of these harder videos early, so you understand that the bright colors elsewhere are a choice, not a default.

Step four: the song that dares you to look away

Now the first required track: "Que me coma el chumino la jefa de servicio." The title is a crude Spanish taunt aimed at a boss, and it is meant to shock. The story underneath is a workplace one. The narrator remembers a colleague who has just been fired and tells her she can count on him if she needs a witness. Then he turns to the coordinator and the head of department: fewer threats, please, and be very careful. The chorus repeats its insult with the stubbornness of someone who has decided not to be scared anymore.

"It sounds like a tantrum," Mike says. "It's actually a statement of solidarity. When someone gets pushed out at work, everyone suddenly goes quiet. I didn't want to be one of the quiet ones."

Step five: read the manifesto, then watch anything

The second required track, "Tampoco te escandalices tanto" — roughly "Don't be so shocked" — comes with a manifesto that works as a key to every video. Mike writes that he has been told many times that using AI isn't art, yet nobody says that about a painter's brushes or a musician's synthesizer. He doesn't use AI to hide, he uses it to reveal himself; every image, note and line grows from something he felt first: loss, emotional abuse, anger, beauty, madness and hope. "AI doesn't invent that," he writes. "It only helps me turn it into a universe."

Read that, and then pick any video at random. You will see it differently.

Why American viewers will get it

The United States invented the music video as a mass art form, from the MTV years to today's vertical clips. American audiences know how much a video can say about an artist's identity. Mike's catalogue adds something new to that story: a single independent creator producing a visual archive at a scale that once required a studio, while keeping the camp, the provocation and the politics of queer pop very much intact.
