Sunset Boulevard on a skateboard and in a pink shirt
Downhill, no brakes and shirt wide open. The guy on the cover rides a skateboard down a palm-lined street, dressed all in pink, while behind him the sun sets over Los Angeles and a vintage car follows at a distance. It's the brightest postcard in this batch of singles.
Sunset Boulevard is a name loaded with cinema: the avenue of the stars, of divas who don't want the spotlight to go out. But there's no black-and-white nostalgia here. There's speed, heat and the pose of someone who knows he's being watched and enjoys it. Very camp, very summery, with that eighties suntan-lotion-ad touch I love so much.
I imagine it playing with the car windows down, or on a terrace late in the afternoon, when the sky turns that orange that looks unreal.
Put it on, put on your sunglasses and undo that last button.
