Soy la Shakira marica del todo a un euro: pink motorbike and cheek
Shakira, yes. But the one from the one-euro shop, the neighbourhood-bazaar one, who doesn't boast about budget but does boast about attitude. And «marica» (queer), said with pride and without asking permission. The title puts the label on itself before others can, and that's already half the song.
The cover goes with it with loads of pink. A pink motorbike, a pink cannon with my name painted on it as if it were funfair artillery, and a mountain road at sunset, with rocks also tinted fuchsia. In the centre, leather waistcoat, tattoos down to the fingers and a face that says no nonsense. It's the tough-biker aesthetic run through glitter, and that mix feels very much like home to me.
What it sounds like inside I'll leave to you. I'll just tell you that, with that title and that motorbike, it doesn't look like a ballad for crying on the sofa. Climb on the back, hold on tight and off you go.
