Cover of the single Sonne und Wind

Sonne und Wind, caged among sharks

It takes courage to get into a cage and go down to the bottom of the sea surrounded by sharks. That's what the cover shows: a guy locked behind bars, in the dark, with the sharks prowling and, above it all, a giant red heart made of something that looks like coral or petals.

And then there's the title, in German: sun and wind. Exactly what there isn't down there. There's an irony in naming the open air from the depths, like someone dreaming of the surface while still trapped in a story that bites them from every side.

It can be read as love that protects you and locks you up at the same time, or as the cage you choose yourself so as not to get hurt. The cover doesn't give the answer, and I think it's right not to.

Listen to it and decide for yourself whether the sharks are outside or inside.
