So Insignificant, a song for low-battery days
Some days you wake up already worn out. So Insignificant is about exactly that, and it does it in English, with short lines that fall like drips into a sink.
The lyrics list the tiredness without decoration: one more worry for the list, another disappointment, bad news just in, and the usual question of when this is going to end. Then comes the lack of drive, another breakup, the burnout. It all sounds the same, sad again, no strength left, «just a name». That expression is one of the sharpest things in the song for me: being just a name, someone who's on the list but carries no weight.
The chorus is where the slump takes shape. The narrator sees himself as someone of little importance, who adds nothing to anyone's day, «so insignificant». And it repeats that so many times at the end that the word starts to wear thin, like when you say something until it stops making sense. I'm interested in that effect, because that's how self-esteem works when it breaks: a phrase on a loop that you believe out of sheer insistence.
It isn't a song that tries to cheer you up or give you a way out. It stays there, on the sofa with you, with no advice. Sometimes that's exactly what's needed: someone describing what you feel without trying to fix it by the second verse.
Within PLANETA GAYFOLK, where there's lots of humour and lots of glitter, this song is a grey breather. It's part of the planet too. Breakups, exhaustion and the feeling of not mattering to anyone are things every queer person who's been through a rough patch knows, and I didn't want to hide them behind the party.
I'd put it on on a rainy afternoon, headphones on and phone face down. And if someone close to you is going through it, maybe it's a good idea to send it to them with a short message: I get it, you're not as insignificant as you think.

I’m so tired,One more worry to acquire.Another letdown once again,Fresh bad news, when will it end?
I’m so unmotivated,Another breakup, so jaded.Sad again, it’s all the same,Out of strength, just a name.
I’m of little importance,So insignificant,no performance.Never addingto anyone’s day,I’m unimportant,So insignificantSo insignificantSo insignificant
