Otro bombardeo: crying non-stop and laughing at your own lyricism

I'm so sad. Just like that, in three words, with no metaphors or frills, Otro bombardeo (Another Bombardment) opens. And what follows is even simpler: I can't stop crying. Twice, in case it wasn't clear.

I really like the honesty of this opening. There are days when the pretty images and clever comparisons just don't come; all you can do is say what's there. And the song stays in that register, almost like a private diary, repeating the same phrases like someone going over the same thing in bed, unable to sleep.

The main verse talks about not knowing who to trust, about feeling that everyone treats you badly. And then comes the question that for me is the best line in the song: «¿Será verdad que soy una víctima y ya cansa mi historia lírica?» (Could it be true that I'm a victim and my lyrical story is getting tiresome?). It makes me laugh a lot and at the same time it seems very lucid to me. It's the moment when the narrator looks at himself from the outside and wonders whether he's going on too much about his sorrows. That self-irony, in the middle of the tears, is very GAYFOLK.

Not even here can you escape

The title comes from the end of that verse: right now he can't take another bombardment, and he can't escape here either. A bombardment of messages, of reproaches, of news, of whatever. The song doesn't specify, and I think it works better that way, because everyone brings their own bombardment.

The structure is almost a loop: sadness, mistrust, question, bombardment, and back to the start. Like those stretches when everything repeats itself and you don't know how to get out. And on the last round something happens that I love: the word aguantar (to endure) breaks into a sob, «gua... guantar», as if in the end you can't even finish the sentence. That little stumble is the most human thing in the track.

It's a song for bad days, to listen to lying down and let it keep you company without asking you to cheer up. I'd dedicate it to you if you've ever wondered whether your friends are fed up with hearing the same thing. Spoiler: maybe they are, but they still love you.

Estoy tanTristeY no puedo parar deLlorarY no puedo parar deLlorar

Ya no se en quién confiarPorque todos me tratan tan mal¿Será verdad que soy una víctimaY ya cansa mi historia lírica?Yo ahora mismo no puedo aguantarOtro bombardeo y aquí tampocoPuedo escapar
