Nunca más nos volveremos a ver: a farewell in black and white
Some covers don't need colour. The one for Nunca más nos volveremos a ver (We'll Never See Each Other Again) is a black-and-white close-up, very near, with a tear running down the cheek and another already welling in the other eye. Tousled hair, the beard, an earring with a small cross hanging from the ear. Nothing distracts from the gaze.
The title takes up almost half the image, in big, tightly packed letters, one word under another. Reading it like that, in pieces, gives it even more weight. Nunca. Más. Nos. Volveremos. A ver. Never. Again. Will we. See. Each other. It's a sentence that leaves no room for hope, one of those you say only once and can never take back.
I like how serious this cover is compared with other, more outrageous ones on the planet. There's no sparkle or jokes here, just a farewell that truly hurts.
Who is it addressed to? Who decides there will be no more meetings? You'll find that out by listening. My advice: choose a quiet moment, without interruptions, and let yourself be carried away by it.
