«¡Están reunidos! ¡Están reunidos!» ("They're in a meeting! They're in a meeting!") The opening sounds like a news headline shouted from a campaign van, and it introduces two unexpected characters: Elon Musk and Donald Trump, who according to the song are dejected and very well hidden.

Why? Because Noemí Argüelles is leading in the polls. That line is the chorus, the motive and the joke all at once. The song imagines a world where a woman with a very local, very working-class name makes the two most powerful men on the scene nervous. It's a reversal of hierarchies I find hilarious, because it turns world politics into a village fiesta with a surprise at the end.

I like the physical images in the lyrics. I got a door smacked in my face. I hadn't had the anaesthetic first. It's as if the polls were a blow for someone, a pain they didn't see coming. And then, looking at the listener, a knowing line: you can't deny you can't stand them. Of course! «Ojo al dato» ("mark this fact"). That «ojo al dato» comes straight from an old-school sports commentator, and gives the track the air of a transistor radio after Sunday lunch.

The repetition of the chorus works like a campaign chant. Say it three times and it already seems true. That's kind of the joke: the song doesn't explain manifestos or proposals, it just celebrates the rise.

And the ending, with a cheeky shout to Noemí, «¡arriba tu chocho!» (roughly, "up with your pussy!"), closes the party with the affectionate vulgarity the GAYFOLK planet has when it wants to cheer a woman on. It's a cheer from the stands, the kind you hear at folclórica concerts.

For me, this song is about wanting the underdogs to win, even if only in a three-minute fantasy. Play it on any election night, to take the edge off, and raise a glass to the polls that bring you joy.
