Mejor hierba que guerra, with a cowboy hat and a rusty pick-up
A cowboy hat, an open denim jacket, a big belt buckle and a cigarette between his lips. The guy on the cover leans on a rusty pick-up in the middle of a plain under storm clouds, with the calm of someone in no hurry to go anywhere.
The title is the kind that could go on a placard or a T-shirt: mejor hierba que guerra, better weed than war. In Spanish it has the easy rhyme of classic slogans and the spirit of that old "make love, not war", but in a country version and with smoke. There's something funny about a cowboy saying it, the gunslinger figure par excellence. Here he's left the revolver at home and chosen to sit down instead.
It's a song for long afternoons, for anyone fed up with news bulletins full of bombs who'd rather slow things down.
Listen to it calmly and without looking at the clock.
