Madrid in black and white, like a found photo
It looks like a photo found in a moving box. The cover of Madrid imitates an old Polaroid, with stained edges and cracks across the image, as if it had passed through many hands or many drawers.
Inside, a wet city street, cars from another era parked along the kerb, streetlamps and, in the background, a domed building of the kind that crowns the corners of the city centre. In the foreground, someone seen from behind walks in a leather jacket and leather trousers, sunglasses despite the rain, close to the wall like someone who knows the way well.
I like that it's black and white and that you can't see the face. Madrid appears as a memory, as a place you pass through and as home. The title is a single word, and the cover fills it with nostalgia. The rest is in the song, which I'd advise listening to while walking its streets.
