Limón, the most loyal lullaby on PLANETA GAYFOLK

Go to sleep, Limón, it's time for bed. With that simple request one of the project's tenderest songs is built. Limón (Lemon) is a lullaby, yes, but not for a baby: it's for a little one who has an owner, and that owner speaks to him with all the love in the world.

The first thing the lyrics say is thank you. Thank you for making me so happy. I find it a beautiful way to start, because sometimes we forget to thank whoever looks after us most without asking for anything in return. And Limón, from what the song tells us, is exactly that: true love, always loyal, someone who will never let you down.

A telepathic connection

There's a moment I find hilarious, when the lyrics claim, very sure of themselves, that there's a telepathic connection between the two. And that this has been checked with no less than a guru in such matters. I love that detail because it's exactly what those of us who live with an animal do: we're convinced they understand us better than anyone, and if necessary we find an expert to prove us right.

The promises are those of any lullaby: your owner is here, I'm going to make you happy, I'm going to protect you. But said to a companion like that, they have something special. After so many songs in the project about people who cheat, betray and pretend, here at last is a relationship with no tricks.

The chorus is short and repeats the way real lullabies do, with that mmm left floating, like when you hum softly so as not to wake anyone. That you're tiny, it says. And there's no need to add anything more.

I'd dedicate it to everyone who has their own Limón at home, that little creature who waits for them at the door and forgives their bad days. And to whoever had one and misses it.

Put it on at night, on the sofa, with your companion asleep on top of you. If he nods off before it ends, the song has done its job.
