Light It Up: wings on fire at sunset

The wings are burning and he keeps walking. That's the image I chose for Light It Up, and every time I look at it, it seems to me a small statement of intent.

On the cover I'm walking barefoot along a beach at sunset, wrapped in a white tunic tied with a cord, sunglasses and huge wings that are starting to catch fire at the tips. In the background, the sun is sinking into the sea and palm trees stand out against the sky. Everything is golden, warm, almost like an old postcard.

I find that very uncelestial angel funny: tattooed, in dark glasses and strolling like someone coming back from a party on the shore. And the fire on the wings changes everything. Is he burning up or lighting up? The English title points to the second: light everything up, set the night ablaze.

It's one of those songs I'd put on when the sun goes down and the evening still hasn't decided whether it'll be quiet or end in chaos. Press play and you choose.
