Cover of the single LICORES MODERNOS

Licores modernos, a bar counter and rain on the window

It's raining outside and it's snug inside. The cover of Licores modernos (Modern Liquors) is an old-school bar scene: a fogged-up window with the wet street and the streetlights reflected on the ground, shelves full of bottles, a hanging lamp with warm light and a glass poured on the counter.

In the foreground, an open shirt, tattoos on show and the look of someone already on their second drink and in no hurry to leave. The title, in old-sign lettering, has something of a 1950s drinks advert about it, and I love the clash: the sign says «modernos», but everything else smells of old wood and the tavern round the corner that's always been there.

It's an invitation to sit down, order something and let the night do its thing. What the song tells, better hear it with a glass in your hand and without looking at the clock.
