La Boca: neon headphones and a finger held high
A middle finger raised at the camera. Not much more is needed to get the tone, but the cover of La Boca (The Mouth) adds details I really like: pink neon headphones, a leather waistcoat with no shirt underneath, tattoos all over the torso and a street at night, wet, with street lamps reflected on the asphalt.
The design has something of a nineties punk fanzine: broken letters in pink and cream, comic-book stars in the corners, a dot screen like an old photocopy. It's a street image, of coming home late with the music at full volume and no desire to explain yourself to anyone.
And the title? The mouth can be many things: what's said, what's kept quiet, what's kissed, what gets shut on others. I won't tell you which one applies here. What I will tell you is that, with that gesture on the cover, you won't find much diplomacy.
Put your headphones on, pink ones if possible, and see for yourself.
