En el basurero: pink glamour among the scrap

A graveyard of junk under a fuchsia sky. That's how En el basurero (At the Dump) presents itself, and the cover says it all before you press play.

In the image I'm sitting among mountains of scrap, in a ruined pink jacket, frayed all over, chains around my neck and the look of someone who got there without asking anyone's permission. Behind me there's a vintage car, also pink, half abandoned, and an old TV with its screen on, as if it still wanted to broadcast something amid all the waste.

I like that mix because it's very much my universe: what others throw away gets dressed in pink here and becomes a stage. The sunset tints everything magenta and the scene has something of an eighties music video and something of the end of a party.

The title leaves many questions in the air. Who has ended up at the dump? Is it a place to get out of or a place where you finally feel at ease? I'd rather you decide by listening to it.

Put it on one of those days when you feel a bit like scrap, but with style.
