Cover of the single Dubai

Dubai: neon, a blue jacket and unbridled shine

Neon everywhere. That's the first thing that catches your eye on the cover of Dubai: the title in chrome letters, with that very eighties pink and blue shine, and behind it a tangle of glowing cables that seem to coil around the protagonist like electric snakes.

In the centre, a guy in a metallic blue jacket, open as far as needed, tattooed chest and gaze fixed on whoever is looking. He doesn't smile. He doesn't need to. He has the air of someone who has just walked into a club where the entry costs more than your rent and has no intention of apologising for being there.

The title does the rest. Dubai sounds like impossible skyscrapers, unbridled luxury, nights that never end and high-voltage posing. And the cover plays exactly with that, with a shine so exaggerated it borders on parody. I like that border, taking glamour seriously and laughing at it at the same time.

If you fancy a night of electric glitter without leaving home, here's your ticket. Press play and decide for yourself what happens under those lights.
