Con el taconeo: a pink bullfighter's suit and stiletto heels
Look at the feet first. On the cover of Con el taconeo (With the Heel-Stamping) the whole body is standing, planted in the middle of a dark room, but what rules are a pair of raspberry-coloured stiletto heels, shiny, firm on the wooden stage.
Further up, pink bullfighter's-suit trousers with black embroidery, an open little jacket with ruffled sleeves and a bare tattooed chest. Pink hair, a beard, one hand on the hip. All around, red velvet curtains, a table with a fringed shawl, a Spanish guitar resting on the floor and an old lamp with tassels. It's an old-school flamenco tablao, only with a different figure in the middle.
The title promises the rhythm of heels against wood, and the image brings flamenco and drag together as naturally as anything. Press play and hear how that heel-stamping sounds, and if you have a pair of heels to hand, even better.
