Brilla Bruma: eighties retro-future and sweaty skin
A pink neon grid stretching to the horizon, a blinding blue flash in one corner and chrome letters like an old arcade machine. In the middle, a shirtless guy, skin glistening with sweat and a big tattoo of wings and a heart on his chest, looks at the camera with his chin up. The cover of «Brilla Bruma» (Shine, Mist) is textbook retro-futurism, and it doesn't hide it.
I'm in love with how the title sounds. Brilla and bruma look very alike but say opposite things: one is light, the other is fog. Together they describe very well those dance-floor moments when everything is blurry and yet someone stands out through the smoke.
It's one of those covers that ask for high volume and a smoke machine.
For pre-drinks, while you put on the tightest T-shirt you own. Or on the way home at dawn, when the mist is real.
